Registration/Reception
The GPREP Reception Centre is for evacuees who have been directed by the Government of Alberta or their home municipality, First Nation, or Métis settlement to register in a GPREP partner municipality.
Why registration matters
- It helps GPREP account for evacuated households and communicate updates
- It helps determine the need for lodging, meals, transportation, pet services, and other supports
- It connects evacuees to the provincial registration database used during activations
What to expect
- Reception centre locations are determined during each emergency based on facility availability and travel conditions
- If you already registered in another host community, staff can transfer your registration
- If you have not yet registered, staff will help complete your information in the provincial system
- If the reception centre location changes, the new location will be shared through official channels
If you are staying with family or friends, registration is still strongly recommended so you continue receiving updates and can access other supports if circumstances change.
